Design Work

I am a Fine Artist at heart but I have a BFA in Advertising in Graphic design.

I’ve always felt wedged between the two professions. I find myself wanting to make my fine art feel as accessible as design and my designs as beautiful and unique as handmade art. These days I mostly use those design skills to make educational videos the share my love of the Whiteline Color Woodcut but on occasion, I will take on freelance work (if it’s for a good cause)

  • Roots Up Identity branding

Roots Up is a small business in Columbus Ohio, reinventing urban farming and creating sustainable communities. My goal was to set them apart from other urban farms and gardens by incorporating produce and natural elements in an unconventional way. In order to create the textural backgrounds, I digitized prints I made with produce and paint.

  • Herbal Detox Illustration

Custom illustration and patterns for a Juice and Herbal Tea start-up in partnership with the agency Know Identity Global. Inspired by mid 19th century Arts and Craft style botanical illustration.

  • Wild Child Board Game

For this class project, I worked with my friend Fredi, a talented illustrator and designer. We concepted, branded, and fabricated “Wild Child” a tactile, collaborative, storytelling game for kids age 3-7 and their grown-ups. The game takes players through a day as an imaginary animal character and prompts them to add wild details and practice storytelling. The board itself is quilted and the illustrations screen printed.
